Welcome to Delawareans for Palestinian Human Rights (DelPHR). Our mission is to advocate, educate and inspire others to support Palestinian human rights and dignity so collectively we can help bring about an Israeli-Palestinian peaceful resolution.

Please join our mailing list to receive action alerts and weekly news summaries. It only takes a minute to call your Congress members. They need to hear a growing number of our voices.

H.R. 2407, "Promoting Human Rights by Ending Israeli Military Detention of Palestinian Children Act"

This bill was re-introduced by Representative Betty McCollum on 4/30/19 (first introduced November 2017 as H.R.4391). It would require that the almost $4 billion a year the U.S. gives Israel not be used for the Israeli military detention, interrogation, abuse, or ill-treatment of Palestinian children. It would also provide at least $19 million to monitor such abuse and to treat victims. Mistreatment of Palestinian children by the Israeli military has been documented by Human Rights Watch, B'tselem, UNICEF, Defense for Children International and others. McCollum press release.
In Delaware, please call Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester at 202-225-4165 and ask her to co-sponsor H.R. 2407.

Did you know an anti-BDS bill was introduced in New Castle County in 2015? DelPHR members and supporters helped STOP the anti-boycott ordinance introduced in New Castle County on September 29, 2015 (Ordinance 15-093). The ordinance was withdrawn by its sponsor, Councilman Weiner, in January 2016 and so did not face a vote at the County Council. See this announcement to supporters in November 2015 after the New Castle County Pension Board voted not to recommend the ordinance.
